The Cornhill Quarter

The Cornhill Quarter development and refurbishment is located at the entrance of Lincoln city centre. It delivered approximately 150,000 ft² of mixed-use commercial space, such as retail and catering. This redevelopment compromised six existing retail commercial spaces that were converted into four high-end retail commercial properties along with a new kiosk. The shell-only services were designed based on a 'fabric first' approach and thermal bridge free construction, all to reduce energy use through design.

In addition, we tested the design against Part L of the 2016 Building Regulations to ensure compliance. The principles of 'fabric first' design were used to calculate the U-values to optimize the use of insulation and promote a cost-effective project. With this, we were able to achieve minimal operational energy and EPC ratings of ‘A’.
